This week, we channeled an entirely new style and design to the third episode of Unsellable Houses – Simple Oasis. Our sweet clients, Alice & Samantha, needed our help selling their colorful Lake Stevens home in which they’ve lived for the last 25 years. Although we loved the character and stories told in their home, transforming this home into a spa-like blank slate for a potential buyer was essential to get them top dollar.

Design Inspo & Materials
Overall Design
What we updated:
- All new interior paint on walls, trim, and ceilings throughout (Sherwin Williams, walls: SW-7103 Whitetail, trim: SW-7531 Canvas Tan, & ceiling: SW-7007 Ceiling Bright White)
- All new luxury vinyl plank (LVP) floors throughout (Homestead Flooring, JetCore Sandy Beech)
- All new light fixtures & hardware
Kitchen
What we updated:
- All new high-end stainless steel appliances (Albert Lee Appliances)
- Installed custom light-gray soft-close cabinetry with complementary brushed brass hardware (Waypoint Living Spaces, Gray, lowers: Duraform Drift 650-D24 & uppers: 540-D18)
- Installed Della Terra quartz countertops (Arizona Tile, Maxim) and marble backsplash (Arizona Tile, Completa Series, Terra Nova, Pickett Mesh)
- Opened up the space and extended the kitchen and added extra cabinetry and counters for a coffee bar/buffet (Arizona Tile, backsplash: Completa Series, Terra Nova, Pickett Mesh & counters: Maxim)
- Added a white farmhouse sink (Elkay)
Family Room & DIY Project
What we updated:
- Modernized the fireplace by removing the mantel and the TV nook and adding a skip trowel texture
Primary Bedroom & Ensuite
What we updated:
- Added a custom luxury built-in closet system (Closet Creations Inc.)
- Installed new floating vanity, light fixtures, and arched mirrors (Wayfair)
- Installed designer tile flooring (Arizona Tile, Classic Limestone Honed Tile)
- Changed the ensuite footprint to devote more room for a spa-like walk-in shower with a tile surround (Arizona Tile, Completa Series Terra Nova, Hex Mesh), new tile flooring (Arizona Tile, Pebble Mosaic, Tan), gold trim, and new rain shower head & faucet.
- Installed free-standing soaking tub
