Even though this week’s episode of Unsellable Houses ended on a bit of a cliffhanger (thanks to an unexpected homemade septic system), we transformed Bonnie’s Bothell home into a French Country dream.

Design Inspo & Materials
Overall Design + Living Room
What we updated:
- All new interior paint on walls, trim, and ceilings throughout (Sherwin Williams, walls: SW-7008 Alabaster, trim: SW-7023 Repose Gray, ceiling: SW-7007 Bright Ceiling White)
- Refinished original hardwood floors throughout
- All new light fixtures & hardware
- Painted an accent wall to add some visual dimension and draw the eyes up towards to soaring vaulted ceilings
Kitchen + Dining Room
What we updated:
- Painted accent brick in the kitchen to make it pop and match the new wall in the living room for cohesion
- To make the dated stack stone fireplace pop and feel more modern French country, we added a custom mantel, an accent wallpaper, and we DIY’d a German Schmear–a centuries old technique!
Primary Bedroom + Ensuite
What we updated:
- Added a custom luxury built-in closet system (Closet Creations Inc.)
- Installed new vanity with accent tile backsplash (Arizona Tile, Flash, Lead 5×5), light fixtures, mirror, and hardware
- Installed designer tile flooring (Arizona Tile, Reverie 9), shower surround (Arizona Tile, Flash, Lead 5×5) and accent shower pan (Arizona Tile, Pietra Italia, 2×2 Mosaic)
Guest Bathroom
What we updated:
- Installed designer tile flooring (Arizona Tile, Reverie 9) and shower surround (Arizona Tile, Concerto, Sand)
- New vanity with backsplash (Arizona Tile, Dunes Sand, Arabesque Mosaic), hardware, lighting, mirror
Exterior
What we updated:
- Painted the exterior, trim, and front door (Sherwin Williams, main: SW-6250 Granite Peak, door: SW-7600 Bolero)
- Refreshed the landscaping
- Added a new fence along the driveway
- Replaced the roof
